Blimey! Four years! And look what happened!

I didn't mean to leave it so long...
I should make more use of this since, in my job, I don't do nearly as much writing as I used to. I issue far fewer press releases these days -- that's just not so much of a 'thing' any more. What I do do is a lot of social media, requiring a very different style. I've always been good at precis and subbing, though.
So, what's been happening in the world since 2015. Brexit overshadows everything for me. I know that's insular of me but, hey. I may talk about other important world events another time. Though I think it'll still be dominating British life for years yet. It's a depressing time. You'd think I could have blogged incessantly about this since 2016, instead of a long silence.
I remember the referendum result being announced in 2016 so well, and it was hard not to be depressed even then, but I had no idea of the shit-storm heading our way.
I was in Cornwall on holiday at the time of the referendum (postal vote, since you ask) and I was struck by the Cornish people's attitude to Brexit. The county was a sea of 'leave' flags and banners. And this was a region that had benefitted hugely from European funding.
And now we are seeing the rise of the hateful Brexit Party following the cock-up that the government has made of Brexit so far.
But any deal that the government makes will never be as good as the one we already have.
And a no-deal Brexit will be a fucking disaster. But that, it seems, it what some people really want.
I despair of them.
Let's stay.
